Our DevOps Engineer is active in sports and likes to play chess

What is your role at Linkyard and what will your work look like?

As a DevOps Engineer, I control the linkyard fleet with my keyboard!

My responsibilities include deploying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and monitoring our cloud infrastructure and application delivery pipelines, and ensuring the availability and accessibility of our applications.

The great thing about it is that I can work with lots of interesting technologies and it's always exciting to learn a new stack or use a new tool — in that sense I feel like a child in a toy store!

Describe your career path

I have a bachelor's degree with honors in computer science and software engineering from the best university in Malaysia (UM) and am currently doing a master's degree in data science in Zurich!

Before I joined linkyard, I worked as a software engineer in 3 large companies.

However, the real motivation that led me to go down the path of engineer is my firm belief that there is an optimal solution for every problem in our world. Whether it's an environmental, political, humanitarian, or even a technical issue, technology has shown time and time again that it can be a driving force for a better society.

I sit at my computer every day and write code to optimize and solve problems. I make mistakes and often struggle to find the answers, but it's all part of the journey to a better society, I hope.

How would you describe yourself in one sentence?

Always grateful and easy-going.

What do you enjoy about your free time?

Reading, swimming, weight training, hiking, chess and last but not least: parties;)

Why is the banana crooked?

Because no one went on vacation and just bent the banana:)
