Why subscribe to IT security?

In practice, it has been shown that employee awareness of IT security has increased following appropriate training. This is reflected in a lower vulnerability to phishing emails. But after some time, awareness decreases again and employees become more vulnerable to cyber attacks again. We want to counteract this development with our “Human Firewall” offer. The aim is to make your employees aware of security problems and the dangers of cyber attacks through regular measures and training, so that they can sustainably form the first line of defense against hackers and cyber criminals or become a human firewall. For SMEs, municipalities, associations and foundations in particular, it is important that participants are sensitized accordingly to risks relevant to IT security.

responsibility

IT security remains one of the most important issues for the management level of every organization.

expenses

Ransom charges for so-called ransomware attacks can easily amount to hundreds of thousands to several million francs, depending on the size of the organization. Restoring the IT infrastructure following a cyber attack can therefore be very costly for your organization.

Business continuity management

Without a functioning IT infrastructure, most important processes in most organizations no longer function, which results in a failure of day-to-day business.

What is phishing?

Phishing attacks pose a serious threat to the IT security of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as communities, associations and foundations. In Switzerland, too, many companies are confronted with the increasing number of such cyber attacks. These fraudulent attempts to steal sensitive information such as passwords, credit card details, and personal identification details have become extremely sophisticated and aim to infiltrate even well-protected systems.

Phishing is a method by which fraudsters pretend to be legitimate organizations in order to obtain information. This is often done via fake emails, websites, or even social media. Recipients are tricked into clicking on fake links or revealing personal information without realizing that they are victims of fraud.

Why are SMEs, municipalities, associations and foundations particularly at risk?

The organizational forms mentioned above are often less well protected than large companies or institutions. They may not have the resources for advanced safety measures or employee training. Phishers specifically exploit these vulnerabilities to penetrate their systems.

phishing campaign

Phishing campaigns are simulated phishing carried out by linkyard to train employees and sensitize them to the dangers of phishing attacks. In these simulated attacks, employees are sent fake emails or messages that are similar to real phishing attacks. The goal is to see how employees react to these fake attacks and then give them feedback and training to improve their behavior.

What is IT security?

IT security means the special protection of technical IT systems, although the term cybersecurity is often used synonymously. The classic protection goals of IT security include confidentiality, integrity and availability. However, it is not only information itself that is protected, as IT security plays a role in almost every sector of the company today and therefore many other assets can also be attacked via information security. As a result, IT security covers different areas of the company and also protects financial and operational functions. This dependence on important corporate functions illustrates the relevance of IT security, as it is found almost everywhere in the company. A cyber attack can have serious consequences as sensitive information can be disclosed or control over important processes (such as payment systems) can be lost.

For effective prevention against cyber attacks, security behaves like a chain of measures, and every single link in this chain must be strong. Humans are the weakest link in this safety chain. Viruses can thus be introduced through bad passwords or phishing emails. The foundations of effective IT security are based on a holistic systematic approach. A company's safety management system must cover all aspects, both the technical side and that of the employees. It is important to gradually improve this system. Information security is a lively process that requires continuous development so that it remains up to date.
