Christmas and the new year are just around the corner. We are happy to take this opportunity to look back on the year and give you an outlook for 2020.
International growth with linkyard cloud
Last year was marked by the further market expansion of the linkyard Cloud in all German-speaking countries. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland we were able to welcome many new customers this year – from SMEs to well-known large corporations. In addition to our three clusters in the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland, we now also operate several systems with a public or private cloud solution on infrastructure provided by the customer as a service in order to be able to meet very special requirements.
At the same time, we are particularly proud to count on an exceptionally loyal customer base. In addition to our high operational stability and professional security management, we are particularly often certified as having excellent support. In the coming year, we will now gradually expand our market activities to the whole of Europe, and we will also increasingly examine cooperation with local Atlassian partners for customer-oriented support in the respective local language.
Growing project business in software engineering and additional consulting focal points
After having been able to develop exciting software solutions in the area of digital support and handling of business processes on a regular basis over the last few years, we have decided to further expand our software engineering with this focus.
We have also been able to take on many interesting consulting mandates in the current year. It turned out that we have a strong USP through the combination of good project management skills with distinctive conceptual and technical competencies in the areas of IT management and architecture. For example, we advised customers on the strategic realignment of large individual software solutions and their management organizations, supported the design and introduction of identity & access management solutions, and prepared and evaluated several IT procurement procedures.
In the case of mandates in public administration, cooperation between authorities is very often a central challenge, to which we can contribute our many years of experience in setting up and organising public procurement alliances or our skills in the field of interface management and standardisation.
For clients with the need for more agility in management, we have provided assistance in the introduction of modern management methods such as Objectives & Key Results OKR, data-driven decision making and the application of lean management techniques. We supported IT service providers in the area of DevOps and in several cases we were able to help bridge personnel bottlenecks with ad-interim management or the provision of qualified personnel in the area of project or test management.
Growth in employees
Since the beginning of 2019 Dominique Nagpal and Vanda Mäder have joined us as new employees. In addition, we employ a handful of selected specialists from our partner network in individual projects. There have been no departures this year either.
Move to a larger office in Bern
Also next year our team will likely expand a bit. We therefore feel compelled to move to a new location on Junkerngasse in Berne in December 2019, just a few steps from the Berner Münster, with significantly more space. Do you happen to be nearby? Just let us know and we’ll be happy to offer you coffee or tea and exchange a few words.
Commitment to society
Within the scope of our possibilities, we strive to contribute to the positive development of our society as a whole. Since this year we are pleased to support the Fondation Botnar – among others the organizer of the Botnar Challenge for the improvement of health and quality of life through digitalization and artificial intelligence – with a professional hosting of their project management tools Jira and Confluence at special conditions. We are also delighted with the performance of the student racing team from Aalen University, which we support, and their e-racing car, which ranked 8th out of 26 teams at Formula Student Italy. And last but not least, we are happy to give our staff the time flexibility to pursue their diverse teaching, cultural and political engagements.
Merry Christmas and good luck to you all!
